Commercial plumbing & hydraulic packages
Full plumbing and hydraulic packages for commercial construction across Port Augusta and the region, with infrastructure and government project experience, and a domestic team for domestic and maintenance work.
Where it started.
Plumbing is the trade the rest of the company is built on. Behind the business is more than twenty years on the tools, across domestic maintenance, government works and large commercial projects, including large-scale installs through the mines at Olympic Dam and infrastructure work at Woomera.
That experience now goes into the larger end of the market. We deliver commercial, infrastructure and government plumbing packages, tendered off your drawings and run to program, while a dedicated domestic crew keeps up the everyday local work that established the business. Mining work is priced selectively, on jobs that suit the team.
Reliability on these projects comes down to two things: the team, and the management process that sits behind them.
The scopes we're built for.
From the dirt up to the final fit-off, these are the plumbing scopes we take on day in, day out.
- Underground and underfloor installationsSet out and laid to the drawings, pressure-tested and signed off ready for slab.
- Fire mains and hydrant servicesWet fire services and fire mains, the work we actively want more of, installed to standard.
- Full stormwater solutionsComplete stormwater design intent delivered, including precast stormwater infrastructure.
- Large-scale first-fix fit-outsRoughed in at volume, kept ahead of the other trades and the site program.
- Clean second-fix fit-offsFinished to a standard we'll put our name on, every fixture and fitting right.
- Sub-divisions and infrastructureUnderground services and hydraulic scopes for sub-divisions and infrastructure builds.
Built for the bigger jobs.
Commercial
Full plumbing and hydraulic packages for commercial builders. Tendered off your drawings, apples for apples, and delivered to program.
Government & Commonwealth
State, government and Commonwealth projects. Compliant, fully documented, inducted, and delivered with the paperwork to match.
Infrastructure
Stormwater, fire and hydraulic services for the infrastructure projects that keep the region moving.
Domestic
A dedicated local crew for renovations, new builds and day-to-day maintenance. The work that built the name, kept on.
The team is geared toward commercial, government and Commonwealth work, sub-divisions and fire mains. Mining work is priced selectively.
Tender-ready, program-friendly.
Builders return to Phillips because the process makes their job easier. We price what is drawn, document the scope in full, and mobilise with our own plant. The program never waits on a third party to turn up.
Tendering & estimating
Every price is built off the drawings and specification provided, so the quotes you compare are genuinely like for like. Todd runs estimating directly, alongside a contract estimator he worked with for years in Woomera. The result is a seven-page tender document that sets out every piece of information up front rather than leaving it to be argued on site later.
We are often involved early. At tender stage we work through alternatives with the builder and pick the product that meets the budget without compromising the brief. Where a stronger long-term solution exists, we raise it before the job starts.
Site delivery & resourcing
Once the crew mobilises, it is set up to stay ahead of the program. Plans are printed to scale and issued to the team on the ground, materials are ordered into suppliers ready for call-up, and changes are pushed through scheduling software and email so no one is working off a superseded set of drawings.
Our own haulage team handles deliveries, which keeps the plumbing crews on the tools rather than running materials around. We hold position in front of the other trades and keep pace with the site manager's program, because quality work done once is what keeps a job on time.
From first enquiry to handover.
Every project follows the same disciplined path, whether it comes in as a builder's tender or a direct enquiry.
Enquiry or tender
A builder issues the drawings, or a client makes direct contact. We go through the requirement with them and confirm whether the proposed approach is the right one.
Site visit & scope review
A site visit is treated as essential. It removes the guesswork, confirms the scope, surfaces any potential issues early, and allows alternatives to be considered where a better long-term solution exists.
Quote & tender document
The drawings and specification are priced, the appropriate product is selected to meet budget, and a seven-page tender document is provided with everything answered up front. Contracts are let and safety documentation is issued for review.
Planning, procurement & mobilisation
Plans are printed to scale and issued to the crew, materials are ordered into suppliers, plant is mobilised to site, and changes are pushed through software and email so the whole team stays current.
Site works
The crew knows what is required and when. Phillips holds position in front of other trades, keeps pace with the site manager's program, and completes quality work the first time so nothing is done twice.
Quality, handover & aftercare
An in-house ITP and QA process runs alongside the builder's, with handover manuals provided where the tender calls for them, and a twelve-month defects liability period applies to all commercial work.
In-house plant, no waiting.
Because we own the excavation gear, the plumbing crew never waits on a hired excavator or a third-party tipper. The dig, the bedding and the backfill are all ours.
Excavators
Excavators matched to the task, from tight-access service trenches through to the bigger digs.
Loaders & skid steers
Tracked skid steers and loaders for material handling and site work.
Materials & cartage
Bedding and backfill from our own sand and metal yard, carted on our own trucks.
Some of the jobs we're known for.
Real proof matters more than promises. These are recent commercial and infrastructure builds where Phillips handled the plumbing and hydraulic scope.
One call also covers the materials and the cartage. That's the point: more of the job, kept in-house and under control.
Tendered tight. Delivered to program.
